Hey everyone! It’s been a minute since I last posted, so I thought I’d take a minute to update y’all on what’s been going on!

About a week ago, my squad launched to Quito, Ecuador! We’ve been staying at the base here since and have been serving our hosts, doing groundskeeping chores along with house chores everyday.

It’s been a bit of an adjustment physically and mentally. The altitude is brutal on your lungs when you first start running. But I also haven’t had any data or wifi since coming here, so it’s been hard not to be able to communicate with my friends and family.

It’s funny though, the schedule of each day has been the exact same but we still don’t know what to expect. Mabe and Fabi are our hosts and they’re amazing. Seriously. The food they cook is phenomenal, I haven’t left the table hungry at all. I’ve loved talking with them and getting to know them and their heart for God.

But unfortunately we can’t stay with Mabe and Fabi the whole 3 months. Tomorrow my squad will be splitting into two teams and I will be staying at a place called El Refugio, which is a youth adventure camp. From what I’ve heard, we will mainly be doing construction work. And I’m super excited about it because what I’m helping build will be used to teach others about God.

Spreading God’s love isn’t always about being in the spotlight and evangelizing. It’s also doing stuff in the background that some will never know about. And I’m content with that.

All of that being said, my final fundraising deadline is coming up in 3 days. And I have $1,500 left to raise to meet the goal. I ask that you please pray about donating to keep me on the race. About 80 people view my blogs on average, so if you gave $18 we’d make this goal with no problem! It would also be super helpful for you to tell others about what I’m doing or even to pray for me and my squad.

Thank all of you so so much for keeping up with me so far! I hope that I will have some stories to share with you all soon!

  5. Gracie, I’m so so proud of you and the journey that God has placed you on. God sometimes places us in a different direction than we thought it would be. I can’t wait to hear how he uses you and your team. Remember God already has everything worked out and for us to have Faith and perseverance to push through, and lean on him in the moment of hard times. Prayers for you and your Squad that your goals will be met. I’ve already saw first hand that God has placed people in your path to help you along the way. So thankful for that and learning from you on my own little journey.
    I love you, Momma
